There are three architect teams competing as finalists for a $95 million budget to design the new Center of the Arts for University of Illinois at Chicago for the School of Theatre & Music. The casual restaurant will feature focaccia, prosciutto, truffle carpaccio, seafood, risotto, gnocchi with oxtail, and the great Italian classics. Exposed brick, booths, and an open kitchen blend a modern and classic feel.

Fairgrounds Coffee Bar - And Cocktails - Opens In Fulton Market

Fairgrounds Coffee Bar is a cafe that offers rotating coffee and tea from around the world. The Fulton Market location opened in prime West Loop real estate territory and will feature a full cocktail menu in addition to its popular beverages. Small bites and breakfast will also be available. Expect local Chicago coffee brands such as: Stumptown, Colectivo, Dark Matter, Gaslight Coffee Roasters , and more. Cocktails will feature mini shakers to get guests more involved in the process called “Shake-Ups” featuring vodka or gin.

Chef B.K. Park has a hot new sushi restaurant in the West Loop called Mako. The menu offers up a 25 course omakase menu (chef’s choice). Mako, named after the fastest swimming shark, is located in prime West Loop real estate under a luxury apartment building at 731 W Lake St. While many sushi restaurants are going for a modern twist or shocking flavors, Mako leans toward classic Japanese sushi presented in a modern yet delicate way in a simple setting. The natural flavor of the fish is the star at Mako.

This means the United Center will finally have convenient CTA el service. Interesting fact: The Damen/Lake station is not new. It was actually closed in 1948 but will reopen with new construction in 2020.
